— How Seb reads over 100 books per year – active listening and the 3 stages of notes:
— 1. Write down anything that resonates with you either copied directly or transcribed from the audio throughout the book
— 2. Once you finish the book, go through this list and highlight those points which were the most powerful for you
— 3. Expand on the points from number 2 in your own words to solidify your understanding of them and further expand your modeling
Seb’s greatest lesson so far from his parents: “Everyone is trying to do their best given the information they have. And when I realized that it was such a profound realization it helped me remove that judgment. Because when you realize that when someone treats you poorly, when someone does something you don’t like – you don’t have to agree with it, but what you realize is that you can have compassion for the other person.”
